The Performance Accelerator is an evolution from work done by John Barratt and his consultancy company Opsis Renewal Consulting Limited.
Established in 1996, Opsis has worked with numerous clients across many industries and countries helping them improve business performance at individual, team and organisational levels. All of this work was done "face to face" with individuals and groups. Opsis Renewal Consulting continues to support clients in strategy development, change management, team and leadership development, but 2 assignments started an evolution in a complementary approach.
In 2016 Damart UK wanted to develop a company wide skills development approach. John worked with them to design and develop a "blended learning" approach - a series of 20 online learning modules - each supported by a facilitated group workshop in their Training Suite.
Around the same time improvements in technology made it more feasible for John and his colleagues to run Zoom based coaching assignments with individuals in the UK, Switzerland, Canada and the USA.
In 2018 WWF asked John to work with them on a programme to support the development of high potential managers in 5 different African countries. This lead to the design of self study modules with virtual group Zoom workshops.
It was clear that this was a time efficient, high impact, high value approach that also reduced travel and environmental impact - while building skills and a strong community of leaders.
The success of these initiatives in releasing potential and accelerating the performance of individuals, teams and organisations. lead to the development of "The Performance Accelerator" process.
Prior to working as a consultant I worked in HR and change management roles with Unilever and Laporte Industries, gaining first hand experience in leading business improvement initiatives.
My experiences showed me how people, teams and organisations could reach high levels of performance if organisations were designed differently and people were well trained.
Consultancy felt like the best avenue to learn more and test myself on international and global projects - especially as I made myself redundant in an organisation redesign!.
I now have over twenty years consultancy experience with Wickland Westcott, Cap Gemini and running my own business Opsis Renewal Consulting Limited.
I have worked in the UK, France, Germany, India, Italy, Holland, Norway, Spain, South Africa, Thailand and the USA - with a broad range of clients. The list covers diverse sectors and includes Asthma UK, Bridgestone, Burger King, Colgate Palmolive, Damart, Historic Royal Palaces, Hitachi, John West, Levi Strauss, Morgan Sindall, Parker Hannifin, PZ Cussons, Wembley Stadium plc and WWF.
I am a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of People Development, and author of the critically acclaimed book “Timeless Management.”
My approach is pragmatic and engaging and avoids jargon and the esoteric.
Outside of work I compete nationally and internationally in Triple Jump and Long Jump.
All our coaches have a strong management background and are experienced and skilful coaches.
Our role is to support and challenge people to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills to accelerate improved performance.
